Second Mile Services, LLC is committed to providing comprehensive support to foster care youth through personalized one-on-one behavioral support services. Each young person is paired with a dedicated staff member who tailors care to their unique needs. Our diverse team includes professionals with backgrounds in social work, psychology, counseling, and child development, many of whom have relevant degrees or experience working with children. They undergo extensive background checks and receive training in trauma-informed care, conflict resolution, and emotional regulation, ensuring a supportive environment for every youth.
The goal of Second Mile Services is to mentor and empower youth within the Baltimore region and beyond. We provide resources, de-escalation tools, and new life experiences to help change the trajectory of their futures. Utilizing the MANDT system, our team delivers compassionate care while promoting safe behavior. Our experienced support staff is dedicated to helping our clients lead fulfilling lives.

Provisional Placement Program
Recognizing the need for stable transitional housing, we implemented our Provisional Placement Program to address the challenges faced by youth who are often placed in hotels. With many group homes operating at capacity, we realized that housing youth in temporary hotel accommodations does not provide the most stable environment and can often lead to frequent relocations. In contrast, our dedicated homes offer a more stable and nurturing atmosphere, serving as a temporary placement while youth await permanent housing solutions.
Our homes provide 24/7 support, allowing youth to receive individualized care and life skills training. During their stay, they can manage their emotions, overcome challenges, and gain the structure and guidance necessary for successful independence. Each residence is designed to create a positive and safe environment, supported by dedicated staff who foster comfort and stability. Residents have access to personal necessities, including hygiene items and daily meals, along with recreational activities such as gaming systems, board games, and internet access. All activities are closely monitored to ensure a secure atmosphere, contributing to a nurturing home-like setting.
To further promote personal growth, Second Mile Services offers workshops, skill-building activities, and social outings that encourage community involvement. We implement systems that support positive decision-making, while our staff is equipped with de-escalation tools to help youth navigate conflicts constructively.
Our Provisional Placement Program is designed to ensure that youth have a supportive environment as they transition toward permanent placements, helping them navigate this crucial phase in their journey.
